There are several benefits to getting a brow lift in Ridgewood. Brow lifts can revitalize drooping or lined foreheads, helping you to look less angry, sad or tired.
What Is a Brow Lift?
A brow lift, also known as a forehead lift, is a cosmetic procedure that helps elevate the brows to as aesthetically pleasing position, reduces wrinkles, sagging, and furrows to rejuvenate the upper third of the face. Using either traditional or minimally invasive (endoscopic & lateral) methods, brow lifts involve the removal or alteration of the muscles above the eyes to smooth lines and raise the eyebrows for a more youthful appearance. The procedure is often combined with other operations such as blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery) and facelifts to improve the look of the eyes and upper face.

Ideal Candidates for a Brow Lift
If you have drooping, down turned brows, deep forehead wrinkles and frown lines on that you’d like to smooth away, then you might be an ideal candidate for a brow lift procedure . While brow lifts are typically performed on patients aged 40-60 to counteract the effects of aging, anyone with lined or inelastic skin on the forehead – whether it’s caused by muscle activity or inherited conditions – is eligible. The procedure is usually performed in an office-based facility or surgery center under local anesthesia and sedation.
Your Consultation
During your consultation with Dr. Pedy Ganchi, a physical examination of your forehead and brows will be performed. Dr. Ganchi will also discuss your medical history, current medications, and past cosmetic surgeries. Photographs of your target areas might be taken during this time as well.

Procedure Techniques
Depending on your concerns, Dr. Ganchi may use either a traditional brow lift, lateral brow lift, or endoscopic brow lift. The best choice for your aesthetic goals will be determined during your consultation. The lateral and endoscopic brow lifts are less invasive options that require shorter incisions.
Traditional(coronal) Brow Lift
First, the patient’s hair is tied with rubber bands near the incision site. Then Dr. Ganchi makes a coronal (headphone-shaped) incision behind or at the hairline, stretching between the ears and across the top of the forehead. The incision may be placed further back or made along the skull bone joints to minimize visibility in patients with thinning hair or who are bald. Then the forehead skin is lifted, tissue is removed, muscles are adjusted and the eyebrows may be lifted. Excess skin is trimmed and the incision is closed with stitches or clips. The site is washed and the rubber bands are removed. The wounds are dressed with gauze or bandages.
Lateral Brow Lift:
Dr Ganchi uses this minimally invasive procedure to effectively elevate the lateral brows and create a more aesthetic arch using two small one inch hairline incisions. The tissues are elevated and secured and the excess skin is removed.
Endoscopic Brow Lift
After the hairline is prepared with rubber bands, Dr. Ganchi makes three to five short incisions (less than an inch long) behind the hairline. The endoscope is placed in one so Dr. Ganchi can see beneath the skin without having to make a large incision, while she lifts the skin and adjusts muscles through the other incisions. The eyebrows are lifted and stitched or screwed (temporarily) into position.
Recovery and Healing
The length of your recovery will depend on the type of brow lift procedure chosen. Common side effects include bruising, swelling, tingling, and itching; these should disappear in about a week. Patients who underwent the traditional method may need more time to fully heal.
Analgesics will be prescribed to help with any discomfort. If you have stitches or staples, Dr. Ganchi will require you to come back after a week to have them removed.
Avoid heavy lifting and other vigorous physical activities for the first few weeks. It can take up to two weeks before you can go back to your normal routine.
Cost of a Forehead Lift Procedure
A consultation with Dr. Ganchi costs $100, but if you have a same-day booking, the $100 will apply as a deposit. The overall cost of your forehead lift will depend on the surgical techniques used. The price will also depend on the type of anesthesia, extent of the work, and other surgical fees.
